Clearing the Cache - How do I clear my browser's cache to eliminate error messages?

Some of the instructions for the most common browsers include:

  • AOL 5.0
    1. Go to Start button in lower left hand corner of your screen
    2. Go to Settings and then to Control Panel
    3. Click on Internet Options Icon
    4. General Tab, click on Delete files, check Delete all offline content, click OK
    5. Click on Settings, click View Files
    6. Go to Edit and click Select All
    7. Go to File and click on Delete and then close the box and click on OK
    8. Click on Clear History button and then click OK



  • Internet Explorer 5.0 and 6.0
    1. In the Tools menu, select Internet Options
    2. General Tab, click Delete Files, check Delete All Offline Content, click OK
    3. Click Settings button, click View Files
    4. Go to Edit and click Select All
    5. Go to File and click Delete - next, close the box and click OK
    6. Click Clear History button and then click OK



  • Internet Explorer 4.0
    1. In the View menu, select Internet Options
    2. General Tab, click on the Delete Files, check the Delete All Subscription Content, click OK
    3. Click on the Clear History, then click YES
    4. Click OK to close the Options window



  • Netscape 6.0 and Mozilla 1.0
    1. Click on the Edit Menu
    2. Select Preferences
    3. Navigator category, click History, then click Clear History
    4. Click on the + next to the Advanced category, click Cache
    5. Click Clear Memory Cache
    6. Click Clear Disk Cache, then click OK

    1. Click on the Edit Menu
    2. Select Preferences
    3. Navigator category, click on Clear History, click OK
    4. Click on the + next to the Advanced category, click Cache
    5. Click on Clear Memory Cache, click OK
